NorDan to invest NOK 100 million in the factory at Moi
A fully automatic, robot-controlled warehouse, roof-mounted solar panels and state-of-the-art manufacturing machinery are among the investments being rolled out during the coming months.
More than NOK 100 million will be invested at Moi in Rogaland, Norway's largest window factory. CEO of NorDan Gruppen and Chairman of the Board of NorDan AS, Dag Kroslid, emphasises the importance of the sustainability perspective in the investment programme.
"At NorDan, we have a clear tradition of investing in our factories, and it is very positive that our main factory at Moi is being equipped with modern production technology while focusing on sustainability measures," Kroslid said.
Important investment
"The investment further enhances the already modern window factory and is an important signal of a proactive investment in the Norwegian window market," said Managing Director of NorDan AS, Trond Magnar Unhammer.
"NorDan is Norway's largest window manufacturer and a cornerstone company in the town of Moi. With this investment, we are taking a major step forward for the future, which will benefit the local community, our employees and not least our customers for many years to come," he said.
Unhammer is supported by Marianne Hammerslund-Skåland, head of the «Fellesforbundet» trade union at the factory.
"This is an important investment for NorDan AS, creating positive ripple effects for the local community. I am proud of everyone who contributed to the value creation we have at the factory and pleased that we already have a profitability that shows that there is a potential for investment in increased competitiveness," she said.
Efficient and precise
Factory manager Torfinn Knutsen is delighted with the modernisation, representing the most significant investment since the large factory halls were built in the late 1960s.
“A new machine centre consisting of three completely new lines will significantly increase efficiency. A brand-new, robot-controlled warehouse provided by Autostore ensures access to parts and components when needed in production. In addition, we increase the flow and create a safer working day for employees," Knutsen said.
