Nor Dan Island

NorDan sets up Icelandic subsidiary

The expansion takes place through a new sales company with showroom and offices just outside the centre of Reykjavik.

NorDan Iceland will be led by industry veteran Sigurdur Magnusson, who has more than 20 years of experience in sales, service and delivery of windows and doors in Iceland.
"I am happy and proud to introduce NorDan to the Icelandic market. I have become well acquainted with NorDan over the past year and a half, and the orders we have already delivered show that the quality of the products fits the demanding climate in Iceland like a glove," says Magnusson. He emphasises that the establishment is more than just a collaboration.
"NorDan is a serious player, and I am proud that we have chosen to establish our own company with our own presence, rather than just working with dealers," he says.

A natural expansion

CEO of NorDan Gruppen, Dag Kroslid says:
"As one of the leading door and window manufacturers in Northern Europe, the establishment of a subsidiary in Iceland is a natural step for NorDan Gruppen. We already have extensive experience of delivering windows and doors to Greenland, the Faroe Islands and Arctic regions. We look forward to delivering our sustainable windows and doors also to Iceland through this exciting new establishment," said Kroslid.

Chief Marketing Officer in NorDan Gruppen, Johannes Rasmussen:
"Thanks to our leading position in areas with extreme weather, we have experienced a growing demand for NorDan in Iceland, and with its extensive documentation, our products are in many ways tailor-made for this market.

During 2023, we delivered products to Iceland worth several million kroner. Positive feedback means that we are now taking the full step and establishing our own business. Construction activity in Iceland is high, driven by the enormous tourism, which in turn contributes to a major expansion of accommodation capacity. The volcanic eruptions we are experiencing are dramatic but attract a lot of attention. In addition, Iceland is facing extensive housing construction in the coming years.

Icelandic customers place high demands on quality and resistance to extreme weather, both in terms of wind load, rain and expectations of a long service life. These are requirements we appreciate and look forward to meeting. We have supplied windows to Greenland, among other places, for the past 40 years, and have conducted thorough tests that make us confident that NorDan windows and doors are highly suitable for the demanding Arctic climate", he said.
