NorDan Rubicon acquires Atum Prosjekt

Rubicon itself became part of the extended NorDan family of companies in 2020. Following the acquisition of Atum Prosjekt, NorDan takes a further step towards becoming a total supplier of windows, doors, facades and sun protection solutions.

Ever since the introduction of integrated Screens and the Hel Aluminum range of products, NorDan has actively sought new opportunities to offer a complete range of products and services. Keeping ahead of customers’ expectations, being able to provide both facades and sun protection in addition to windows and doors, choosing a single supplier has never been easier.

One stop shop

The acquisition further expands NorDan AS 'offer and presence in the Norwegian market, but even more important is the addition of new and necessary expertise to be able to contribute to greener buildings, said Trond Magnar Unhammer.

“The expectations for energy efficiency and climate impact in new buildings mean that increasingly stringent requirements are placed on the competence, documentation and delivery ability of us as a building material supplier”, said Unhammer.

“Having both Rubicon and Atum on the team, we have knowledge and products that fit right into our plan to become a one stop shop for everything related to doors, windows and facades. Our customers only need to communicate with one supplier for all their needs”, he said.

Strong overall concept

NorDan Group CMO, Johannes Rasmussen has played a key role in the acquisition process. He is very pleased to have the Stavanger based company Atum on board.

“NorDan has long worked to offer a robust and comprehensive range to the market. The acquisition of Atum Prosjekt further strengthens the Group's focus on smart products, now with sun protection included. This strengthens NorDan's position as a total supplier in the Norwegian market”, said Rasmussen.

Great expectations

Both NorDan Rubicon and Atum Prosjekt have high expectations for the results that joint ownership, co-location and competence sharing will provide.

“Atum has been an important supplier to Rubicon for many years, and we have always had great confidence in the expertise and deliveries from the team. Now the timing was right, and with the acquisition we see many positive synergy effects that will benefit Rubicon's customers”, said managing director Lars Mellerud in NorDan Rubicon.

“Together with Atum, we will now be in an even better position to find the best solutions for complex buildings, even though the builders are of course still completely free to choose a collaboration concept in the future”, he said.

Under the same roof

For Erlend Schibevaag in Atum Prosjekt, the acquisition means new opportunities to create a better totality for customers.

“Being able to meet the demands of the ever-increasing requirements of modern buildings is more important than ever, and this is also true for sun protection. In addition to cutting-edge expertise in this area, over time we have gained considerable knowledge of electronics and building automation, which we can now extract further synergies from together with NorDan Rubicon”, said Schibevaag.

“We also get the opportunity to gather more trades and knowhow under the same roof. This in turn will create a better whole and we will be able to offer higher quality complete solutions to new and existing customers”, he added.
